Just like Allen Crutcher (or Richie Sambora; it depends on whose version you like more) sings – I’m just a stranger in this town. And I feel like that whenever I join a new club, start working in a new company or somehow become a part of an unknown and alien group. I think most of us feel like that once in a while.
Whenever you are new in a group, you have to overcome yourself and be the best version of yourself. You have to be shiny, friendly and outgoing and at the same time, you have to find your people, the ones who would get your weird sense of humor. Now I’m in the phase of searching and discovering. I’m trying to find out who I am in this new group, who I want to be and who wants to be with me. It can be exciting and exhausting at the same time because you have so many possibilities, so many choices and you get to choose who you want to be. Even though the song is quite sad, it doesn’t mean that being a stranger must be a sad experience. It opens doors for you and lets you be whatever you want. That’s why I’m super excited to see where I’m going to be after a year.
This time, I will leave you with a song, which made me stop and think for a moment. Maybe it will help you, too.
